Dear Lord… School starts Tuesday morning … can we talk?

Lunch on Sunday before 7th grade

Dear Lord,

Two and a half months ago, Faith was still so ill from the strep throat infection that led her immune system to attack her brain that it took all her resources to push through homebound assignments of only her core classes, for 15 minutes at a time, meeting her instructor for one – two hour long meetings a week.

Her first day of 7th grade starts in the morning … her school and I still have much to do to figure out her specific schedule and supports as she continues to heal and recover …. I thank you Father, for how supportive they are and for such a wonderful school, administration and faculty!

She has been strep free for 2 months… thank you, Lord!! Yet, we know how prevalent strep is in public places like schools and we’ve seen how powerful it can be in damaging her health.

She has made so much progress, but Lord… she was so sick and there is still so much healing ahead for her… her Pediatric Neurologist estimates a total of 1-2 years for her to return to baseline.

We pray she is healthy enough to manage attending school for her 5 core classes with supports. We pray for all the children and families fighting this challenging auto-immune medical condition.

Dear Lord… I love this precious child so much and this feels scary to me. Please … help me to trust You, infuse me with Your peace and strength, such that it is all she senses from me. Lord, please keep her free from infection and on the road to complete healing.

Thank You…. for all You have done and are doing for her… for us… for children everywhere who have PANDAS … You are so awesome and we know that ALL things are possible. ❤

Thank you, Chris. She’s having a significant increase in symptoms right now, including suicidal ideations so I am concerned that we may have another infection that must be addressed. It could also be that she is tired and has too much pressure on her as her brain is still healing from the extreme exacerbation she had last year when we were unable to clear strep for 15 months.
We are working with the school to formalize accommodations and are very blessed to be working with an excellent school.
The dolphin… that was a swim with the dolphins excursion we did during a once in a lifetime opportunity for her to take a cruise with us and visit Atlantis… what a blessing – she loved it! 🙂

    Dear Denise and Christine,

I am glad to hear of the progress so far. I will pray for this school year and for your courses and your sessions with a tutor.

Christine, love you and am proud of you for being such strong young lady and your staying with your studies until they are done. Deuteronomy 33:25b

    Grampa Harold, Love you
